Perchance the most bizarre Daily SAll-Star ever

Terrence Tittingfield is today's SAll-Star. I don't know much about him. He may be a nice guy. My guess is he works a fairly average desk job, maybe selling paperclips. He probably goes bowling on Thursday nights with a couple of the guys. Saturday is probably movie night with the wife.

But the one thing I do know about him is that the man is severely messed up.

Here is his website: www.eroticfalconry.com (some NSFW).

And yes, it's exactly what you think. I can't explain it anymore. Check it out and be disturbed.

Daily SAll-Star

Today's Daily SAll-Star is on of the best/worst pitchers in history: Hideki Irabu

Back in the day, Irabu was a stellar pitcher in the Japanese Leagues for the Chiba Lotte Marines. He stuck out a lot of hitters and once threw a pitch at 156 km/hr (those crazy Japanese with their metric system), which was the Japanese League record until 2005 (footage below).

But then Irabu was signed by the San Diego Padres. Refusing to play for any team other than the New York Yankees, Irabu forced a trade where the Padres sent the Japanese pitcher and Homer Bush to the Yankees for Rafael Medina and Ruben Rivera and $3 million. (Note: a ham sandwich was rumored to be involved but ultimately was left out due to contract unrest)

Once Irabu reached the Yankees, he was terrible...really, really terrible. Plus he got severely obese and was being overpaid. So in general, Yankee fans hated him. It was the same story in his brief stops Montreal and Texas.

So here's to you Hideki Irabu: proof that you usually can't be a fat baseball player.

Daily SAll-Star: Busey

Let us continue the theme of spectacular Oscar moments with one of the most sought-after and dynamic stars in the film industry: Gary Busey. Here he is at the Academy Awards, seeking the flesh of young actresses like the awesome Great White Busey that he is.

And here's Busey doing standard Busey things....someone just happened to catch it on camera.

Genuflecting Busey.

Yay.

Daily SAll-Star: Daniel Day-Lewis

We're finally back in business after a hiatus of lazy.

And we're kicking it back off with a great one: Daily SAll-Star Daniel Day-Lewis.

Day-Lewis won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his work as Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood last night and it wasn't even close, despite some great performances from great actors such as George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Tommy Lee Jones, and Viggo Mortensen.

This marked the 4th nomination for DDL and second win in the category. Straight up: the guy can act. Known as an extremely selective actor, Day-Lewis puts an incredible amount of research and devotion into each role.

If you haven't seen There Will Be Blood, stop whatever you're doing and see it now. DDL's performance is truly amazing, perhaps only matched in the past year by Javier Bardem's incredible take as Anton Chigurh.

*MILD SPOILER ALERT* (although I maintain if a movie is really good, you'll enjoy it regardless of if you know the outcome or not)
